my weekend was pretty miserable.....how's about your's?kris and i were sick all weekend. didn't get a thing done, myself. kris remained creative, and i just moped around the house waiting for the angel of death to save me from my virus riddled body.
so i've been wanting to get a walkman again. bought a rio volt a while back that would play disks burned with mp3's, loved it, but returned it after a few weeks because it just acted strangely. it would skip. it would shut off for no apparent reason. it would re-start at the beginning of songs. all in all, i'm pretty sure it was possessed.
now i'm missing music again. i don't get to listen to it very often, since my drive to the train station is short (and i hate radio, anyways). other than that......i don't have any other opportunities to listen to music of my own choosing. so i've been thinking of what to get.
you see, that experience with the disc player really threw me off of that type of player, so i started thinking about a mini-disc player/recorder. but the more i read about them, the more i'm not really sure that's what i want, either. i don't really have a need to record stuff live, and it sounds as if it could be a real pain to record stuff onto them, either from my computer or not......especially since i've gotten used to the ease of burning my on compilations onto cd. i would really just like to be able to fit a huge amount of mp3s onto a device and not have to change it for a few weeks.
which then leads me to the "ipod" style hard-drive based units that play mp3s. but those seem to be so expensive still.....which in turn sends me right back to the players that will run cd's burned with mp'3s on 'em. and there's just so many different types, i find it rather overwhelming trying to sort through them all.
at this point, i'm just going to have to settle for humming to myself in the elevator when no one else is around, which is a lot cheaper, but doesn't do anything for me when it's scissorfight that i'm humming.
