11:17 PM -

a very stand up gentleman, whose opinion i value vary highly, pointed out to me via email that my use of the word "wop" in a previous posting might strike an (unintended) bad chord to any reader other than the intended individual, who might not know me in a personal manner.

i thought of removing the line for that posting, but i don't feel comfortable with editing past postings......good, bad or just plain dumb, and that wouldn't explain it to those who might have already read it. i feel that it might be best to explain:

this was aimed at my good brother stan, who has just recently received his first computer and is discovering the internet for the first time. the exact line (referring to him as a one-eyed beatle-freak wop) was taken directly from our own conversations with each other. our insults toward each other can get pretty hard-core, but are always said with a laugh and a snicker.....which doesn't come across over the internet all that well.

it's hard for me to remember just how public a forum the internet really is......and regardless of the fact that no one has emailed me claiming that their feelings were hurt, or that they felt disgusted or threatened by my use of the word, i decided to post the following..........

DISCLAIMER: my personal use of the previously mentioned language was not intended as a slight towards any group or culture of any particular political, religious or ethnic base, but was solely meant to grab the attention of a very good friend and brother who has been through so much crap in his life (and has lived to tell the tale) that he has more important things to worry about than a carelessly dropped insult thrown his way in any forum, public or private.

besides......he calls me a goat f__ker.

but seriously......if you found yourself offended, please consider this my humble apology.......sometimes i forget that there are others out there reading this.

08:41 PM - i'm dreading work tomorrow.....
too much to get done.....and i'll never get the time to do it........

i was supposed to have my six month review back in february. didn't happen. i was told it would be 'soon'......then in march i was asked if i would accept a promotion which would add another component to my job: doing the floor's payroll. 'cool', i said....i would do it......

now we're almost halfway through april, and i'm fumbling my way through learning how to do payroll, plus some other fun stuff that has fallen in front of me (which really should be someone else's responsibility) and i'm doing a lot more work and feeling alot more stress for the same amount of money i was making before.

they sure as hell better make my payraise retroactive......

if that ever happens..........whatever.........

on the happy side, thanks to kenny, i have a new printer. an hp 2500C professional baddazz full color printer that will handle paper up to 13" x 19". sure...there's bigger and better out there.

but are they free?
i didn't think so.......

kris and i finally got an account opened up for ebay transactions. the next step i want to take is to build a space here to show some of the stuff that we'll be auctioning off. nothing OVERLY amazing, mind you. we're not getting rid of any of our pride-and-joys......but there will be quite enough stuff that i'm sure SOMEONE will find something that they've wanted for awhile, at a good price, and it will clear up some clutter in kris' and my life. seems like everyone can win with that......

i just noticed that it's almost nine. i need to get to bed in the next couple of hours if i don't want to be a zombie at work in the morning. i'm getting too old to handle the nights of three to five hours of sleep. i need at least eight hours of sleep, or i fall apart at work by ten-thirty in the a-m......and there's no amount of caffeine that will change that.
