kris and i just returned from a week in maine.
what made it so nice was that no one (vacationer wise) was really up there yet. the mass-holes had yet to invade, and the natives hadn't yet set up their maple syrup and corn stands. since the place we stay at is in the middle of nowhere, we almost felt like the rest of the world had disappeared.......of course, that's what a vacation is all about!
i brought a half box of comics plus a bunch of graphic novels to read. i'm now caught up with blade of the immortal, stray bullets, thb, ultimate spiderman, plus a slew of other reads that i've been behind on for almost a year.
kris brought all of her cameras, including an old polaroid that she and i got some neat shots with. ya see, sometimes store will still try to sell outdated polaroid film. the nice folks at my local walgreen's will sell it to you cheap when you show the expiration dates to the store manager. most people wouldn't want this film because sometimes it works.....sometimes it doesn't. but when it does, you can get some unexpected results such as coloring changes, sections that won't develop, sections that wash out entirely....etc.
we're going to work on scanning some, so i'll post 'em up after we do......
